RAMBLING AND HIKING IN THE AREA
The “pays de Tarare” boasts many way-marked paths for rambling and hiking.
1. Around the Chateau de Ronziere 11km
Departure from ST Forgeux. Climb up to the water tower. Then in the hamlet of ”Vincent” follow the signs for “Moulin a vent”. Then “la Croix de Ronziere”. Take the GR 76 on the left and walk for 300m. Leave the GR, when you get to “Gonnard de Ronziere”, go past the hamlets of “Satinaire” then “Napoli”. Turn right and go through “le bois Doiré”. Walk through the hamlet until you reach “Gantillon”. At last, take the D 7 to the village of Saint Forgeux.
2. From St Forgeux - Tour of the 3 chapels 14.5km
Follow the signs for ST Romain de Popey to the “chapelle de Cléry”. Follow the D33 to the river of “La Turdine”. Go to the ”chapelle de Vindry” in St Loup. Go down to Pontcharra. Follow the signs for “St Forgeux” then “Chapelle de Grévilly”.
3. From Tarare – walk around the mountain of Tarare 10.5km
Take the GR76 which goes through Tarare, and then the GR7 on the “Monts du Tararois”.

Horse-riding
1. At the Chateau de Ronziere, a professional can come and propose a week-end training session on ethology. A good level of French is required for this training.
